How to Access a Work Computer on a Pocket PC
by Jason Artman, Demand MediaPocket PC devices running Windows Mobile have the ability to connect to a computer remotely, allowing you to interface with the computer and run applications as if you were at the computer. With this feature, you can continue to check work email and receive updates from your work computer from any location where you can receive Internet service. Use the Terminal Services Client or Mobile Remote Desktop Client on your Pocket PC device to access a work or other computer remotely.

Step 2
Confirm that your work computer has an externally-reachable IP address or fully qualified domain name. Other configurations may need to be made on your work server in order to allow access to your Pocket PC as well. Contact your network administrator for assistance with this.

Step 1
Right click on "Computer" in Windows Vista and 7 or "My Computer" in Windows XP and click "Properties." If this icon is not on your desktop, find it on the Start menu.
Step 2
Click the "Remote" tab in Windows XP, or the "Remote Services" link in Windows Vista and 7.

Step 4
Click "OK" to close all open windows when you are finished.
