How to Delete the Error Web Pages From Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer stores all the Web pages that you visit in a folder called "Temporary Internet Files." IE uses these files when you go back to the same websites, in order to load the pages faster. From time to time, you may find errors in Web pages. Unfortunately, these error Web pages are also stored in the Temporary Internet folder.

Internet Explorer Versions 5 and 6

Step 1

Shut down Internet Explorer.

Step 2

Hit the "Start" button and select "Control Panel."

Step 3

Double-click on "Internet Options" and select the "General" tab.

Step 4

Click on "Delete Files" under the subheading "Temporary Internet Files."

Step 5

Check the box titled "Delete all offline content" in the "Delete Files" dialog box. Hit "OK" to complete the task.

Internet Explorer Versions 7 and 8

Step 1

Follow this process if you use the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system. Hit the "Start" button and select "All Programs." Scroll up to find the shortcut for "Internet Explorer." Click on the shortcut to launch IE.

Step 2

Click on "Tools" on the top bar and select "Internet Options."

Step 3

Click on the "General" tab.

Step 4

Hit the "Delete..." button under "Browsing History."

Step 5

Place a check-mark beside "Temporary Internet Files" in the "Delete Browsing History" dialog box. Hit the "Delete" button to complete the task.
