Storing phone numbers, addresses and emails on an iPhone is convenient and prevents the loss of important contact information. You may occasionally need to delete a contact, however, because of changed circumstances, or synchronizing the iPhone with your computer may create some duplicate contact entries. Removing duplicate or unnecessary contacts frees up memory on your iPhone and makes it easier to locate important people in your contact list.

Step 1

Tap the green “Phone” icon on the bottom of the iPhone home screen.

Step 2

Tap the “Contacts” icon. This icon is a head and shoulder silhouette.

Step 3

Select the contact you want to delete from the list.

Step 4

Tap “Edit.”

Step 5

Scroll down the list of editing options and select “Delete” to remove the contact.

Tips

  • Access the contact list from the phone, text or mail applications.
  • Always verify you have selected the right contact to delete.
