How to Make a Web Page From Microsoft Frontpage

by Suvro Banerji, Demand Media

Microsoft Frontpage is a widely used HTML editor and web page administrative tool. It was part of Microsoft Office from 1997 to 2003. Frontpage lets you design websites with ease. You don't need to know HTML to use this program. You can use interactive buttons to create web graphics for links and navigation. You can also make your web page more dynamic with the help of some of its features like hit counter that tells you the number of times people have visited your site. Frontpage can also import several audio-visual elements to your web page.

Step 1

Launch Microsoft Frontpage.

Step 2

Click on "File" and select "New."

Step 3

Choose a look for your web page by selecting a template. Microsoft Office offers you several options. You can also download more from Microsoft's website.

Step 4

Design what you want to include in your web page. Drawing a rough draft of your web page on a piece of paper can help you organize your webpage.

Step 5

Add text and headings by simply clicking on the boxes in the main area. Use a larger font for headings. Select the font type and color based on your preferences.

Step 6

Add photos to your web page. Click on the "Insert" tab and select "Picture." You can choose either a clip-art image or a photo previously saved on your hard drive, or choose both depending on your preferences.

Step 7

Click on "File" and select "Save" once you have finished designing your web page. Microsoft Frontpage saves all the contents of your web project in a folder in "My Documents."

Step 8

Click on "File" and select "Preview in Browser" to preview your web page, which is an excellent way to double check the contents of the web page before you publish it on the web.

Step 9

Click "File" and select "Publish Web." Enter the domain where you want to publish the web page. You can purchase domains from websites like GoDaddy, BuyDomains and Active-domain. You can personalize your domain through these websites.

Step 10

Click on "Publish" to complete the task. Open your web browser, and navigate to the domain you bought in Step 9. You can see the web page that you created on Microsoft Frontpage.
