How to Make a Web Page Using FrontPage
by Foye Robinson, Demand Media
You can make a web page in FrontPage.
You can use page templates to create a web page in Microsoft FrontPage. You'll find themes that will help you incorporate background colors, graphics and styles into your page. If you need to create a web page quickly, simply remove the existing content from the template and add in the text, buttons, hyperlinks and features you want. You can then preview your web page on a web browser before placing it on the Internet.
Step 1
Click on "File," "New" and "Page or Web" from the toolbar.
Step 2
Go to "New from template" and pick "Page Templates..." Select the type of page you want to create from the "Page Templates" dialog box, then click on "OK." The page will be loaded into FrontPage.
Step 3
Pick the options you want to include from the bottom of the "Themes" dialog box. Add a checkmark to "Vivid colors," "Active graphics," "Background picture" and/or "Apply using CSS." Then select a page theme from the list.
Step 4
Modify colors, graphics or text by clicking the "Modify" button in the dialog box. Follow the wizard for the modification you chose and click "OK." Then press "OK" to apply the theme to your web page.
Step 5
Insert text, images and links to your page. To insert an image, place your cursor where it should go and select "Insert," "Picture" and "From File." Then double-click the image file.
Step 6
Edit the wrapping options for an image by double-clicking it on your page. Select a wrapping style from the "Picture Properties" dialog box and click on "OK."
Step 7
Add hyperlinks by selecting the text or image you want to hyperlink. Choose "Existing File or Web Page," "Place in This Document," Create New Document," or E-mail Address" from the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box. Then type in your linking preferences and press "OK."
Step 8
Save your web page by clicking on "File" and "Save As." Click on the "Create New Folder" button to create a folder for the web page files. Name the folder and press "OK." Then add a file name for the page. Click on "Save" and press "OK" to accept embedded image files.
Step 9
Add additional pages to the web page by clicking on "File" and "Save As." Then rename the file. You can update the files individually with the correct content later.
Step 10
View your work in a web browser by selecting "File" and "Preview in Browser." Specify the browser and click on "Preview."
Tips
- You should save your home page as "index.htm" or "index.html," but other pages may be saved with a different name.
