How to Set Up a Web Page to Get Hits

Enhance your Web page to bring an unlimited amount of traffic.
Aspiring Webmasters and bloggers often start to construct a Web page, but soon abandon their initial efforts when results are not instantly noticeable. A Web page's success is defined by various factors, including its customization methods and the overall promotion applied. By implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques you can ultimately expose your Web page to a large and interested audience.
Step 1
Enhance your content with relevant keywords. Web keywords help search engines rank your content more effectively. In turn, users are more likely to find your source when searching for the type of information your Web page contains.
Step 2
Research which keywords and phrases your Web page should contain. Rather than guessing which words people are searching for, use the exact wording they type to maximize your page's chances of being found. Google AdWords, Word Tracker and Word Stream are several of many keyword research tools freely available. By knowing which phrases are trendy you give your page a greater advantage.
Step 3
Target your audience. Do not use just any set of keywords, as many of them are saturated and overly-used by more authoritative Web sources. A more reliable method to guarantee a dedicated audience is by using relatively unused phrases. A keyword research tool will provide how many people use any given keyword each month. Generally speaking, a keyword used by several thousands of people will be less saturated than one used by hundreds of thousands.
Step 4
Use your researched keywords wisely. Search engines display all results as the main title of a web page; use the researched phrase as part of the main title. Moreover, include the keyword in question within the introduction or in the first sentence of your Web content, if possible. Also, use related phrases throughout the article. In the end, you will have an arsenal of tried-and-true phrases, increasing your chances of getting page hits.
Step 5
Provide quality and value to maintain interest. Include a relevant photo to compliment your content, include thought-provoking questions and update the Web page frequently. Ensure everything fits and flows smoothly with your page theme as users will become more interested and may even help spread your page through word of mouth.
Step 6
Fill your Web page with valuable content or information prior to promoting it. Website promotion is a basic and cliché technique; however, users might not come back to visit if your page is not yet ready. After you are satisfied with your page's look and feel, use social bookmarking sources and article submission directories to promote it.
Step 7
Give back to your visitors. An accepted tactic to keep users coming back is by giving away gifts that relate to your Web page's theme. If running a tech gadget website or blog, give away an electronic device on any chosen dates. To avoid using your wallet, provide free information in the form of an e-book as long as you own it and/or possess the necessary rights to distribute it.
Step 8
Submit your Web page to the major search engines. After your page is ready, compliment your promotion efforts by letting search engines know of the page's existence. Most engines will eventually find it; however, this could take several weeks. To expedite the process, use free submission services such as Submit Express and Free Web Submission. Input your page URL and allow the service to activate your link in the search engines automatically.
Tips
- Develop connections and relationships with fellow website owners. As more links point back to your Web page search engines will regard it with higher authority.
