How to Transfer Outlook Express Contacts onto My Samsung Moment

If you use Microsoft Outlook Express with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or 2007, the contact data synchronizes to the Work Email feature. Without Microsoft Exchange Server, the transfer requires a few extra steps, but you can do it by synchronizing the contact list through Google's free email service.
Sign Up for a Free Google Gmail Account
Step 1
Visit the Google website, then select Gmail from the menu on the top left.
Step 2
Enter your desired user name and password, and then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the registration process.
Step 3
Sign into your new Gmail account, check the in box and respond to the confirmation email.
Export Your Outlook Express Contacts
Step 1
Open Outlook Express and click File, then choose Export and select Comma Separated Value.
Step 2
Click "Export," then select all fields.
Step 3
Click "Save" and choose a folder that you can easily locate later.
Import the Contacts to Gmail
Step 1
Sign into your new Gmail account.
Step 2
Click Contacts in the left menu pane.
Step 3
Click the More Actions arrow, then choose Import.

Click "Choose File" in the Import Contacts pop-up window and browse to the CSV file exported from Outlook Express. Click "Import."
Synchronize the Contacts to the Samsung Moment
Step 1
Press the home icon on the Samsung Moment, and then tap the contacts icon.
Step 2
Click Menu, then select "Edit sync groups."
Step 3
Click "Next" followed by "Sign in" to enter your new Gmail user name and password.

Select "Sync all contacts" and click "OK."
Tips
- You may have to edit the CSV file if you receive error messages while importing to Gmail.
- The data synchronization process could take up to 10 minutes. If your contacts have not synchronized after 20 minutes, select "Sync all contacts" and press "OK" again.
